Democracy

Through its commitment to ethically sound public interest journalism, the Foundation aims to strengthen democratic values and support informed civic engagement across Nigeria, Africa and the Black Diaspora.

The rationale for the emergence of Naija Times Journalism Foundation is that ethically-driven and evidence-based media programming is critical for the growth and consolidation of democratic development, not only in Nigeria, but across Africa and the Black diaspora. As Nigeria, and African democracies grapple with existential challenges, the capacity of the Press needs to be enhanced to surmount these challenges. Naija Times Journalism Foundation is at the intersection of curating the most effective solutions to these challenges, in terms of the role of the Press in strengthening democracy and enabling the participation of the people in key governance processes.
