At Naija Times Journalism Foundation, media innovation and capacity building are at the heart of our mission to strengthen journalism for democratic development. We believe journalism must evolve to meet the demands of an increasingly digital and complex society. That evolution begins with investing in people, tools, and forward-thinking practices.
We design and support programmes that equip journalists, editors, and media institutions with practical skills in areas such as data journalism, fact-checking, solutions reporting, and multimedia storytelling.
Our initiatives foster creativity, critical thinking and technological proficiency—ensuring that practitioners are not only able to tell impactful stories, but also adapt to new platforms and audience expectations.
Beyond skills development, we promote inclusive participation by prioritising the training of young journalists, women, and underrepresented groups. Through workshops, mentorship, newsroom collaborations and digital labs, we create spaces where journalistic excellence and innovation thrive.
Our aim is to build a resilient, ethical and empowered media ecosystem that can inform the public, hold power accountable, and support inclusive governance across Nigeria, Africa, and the Black diaspora.
